Why be a RITA Member?
The RITA staff provides safety seminars on a monthly basis. These seminars have included speakers from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration; Rhode Island State Police, Commercial Enforcement Unit; Internal Revenue Service, concerning Dyed Fuel use; and Drug and Alcohol testing to name a few.
The Rhode Island Trucking Association provides out-of-state representation as required by the Surface Transportation Board, formerly the I.C.C. RITA and ATA have set up a network of Resident Agents to provide services to Interstate Carriers as required.
RITA also maintains, and offers at a discount to its members, a complete stock of trucking supplies. The supplies include Log Books, Federal Safety Regulations, Physical Examination Forms, Accident Registers, Hazardous Materials Regulations, Emergency Response Guide Books, and other required books and manuals.
The Association also offers a Drug and Alcohol program at a substantial saving. In addition to the random selection for Drug and Alcohol testing, you will receive substantial savings on the actual tests, Medical Review Officer services, collection site discounts, data summary reports, confirmation test, overnight courier, and blind sample program.
For a nominal fee, RITA staff will visit your company and perform a spot check of your records for compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Although RITA cannot maintain your records, we have the ability and knowledge to guide you in the preparation and maintenance of your records. It is always a good idea to have your records looked at from a different perspective.
